Gomoku: Five Stones in a Row is a strategic board game intended for two participants. On a square grid measuring 19×19 (in the classic version) or 15×15 (in the contemporary sports variant) points, players take turns placing stones of two different hues. The victor is the individual who first creates an unbroken line of five stones of their color either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. It offers numerous variations, differing in specific aspects of the gameplay rules. The game is thought to have been originated in China over two millennia ago. Today, it is recognized globally; competitive events are organized based on it.
